The Full Story
Adoption Week Scotland 2024
In November 2024, as part of Adoption Week Scotland, SAAM held an in-person gathering in collaboration with Adoption UK Scotland. We met at the historic Willow Tea Rooms in Glasgow, where we shared not only tea and cake — but truth, connection, and community.
The event included a talk on navigating records and identity, offering space for adoptees to reflect, ask questions, and share their own experiences

WHY?
We were honoured to be joined by fellow adoptee Joy, who spoke as our guest speaker about her healing journey through reconnecting with her “soul child” — the part of her that had been lost and silenced through adoption, and slowly reclaimed.
We also displayed a small installation that invited people to reflect on what rights live within us — and what rights are still missing in law and society.
It was a gentle, affirming space — full of honesty, laughter, and quiet understanding. Moments like this remind us: we are not alone, and there is real power in telling our stories together.

🗣️ Support the Rights of Adoptees – Take Action Now
The Scottish Adult Adoptee Movement (SAAM) is fighting for truth, justice, and lifelong dignity for all adopted people — but we can't do it alone. If you believe every person deserves the right to know who they are, access their full legal history, and be free from lifelong legal fictions, we need your voice.
Here’s how you can support the campaign:

This is not just about the past. It’s about the legal status,
